We have one. It is fair to good condition with some minor issues with the varnish on the front. The back is beautiful and the plate is still in good condition.

It was still in tune after a number of years when we pulled it out of storage tonight.

Any ideas on this?

Thanks.

Mike

Hi Mike, welcome to the forum.

I'm afraid I don't have much idea on the value of your Greco 624... I know Greco was part of Goya guitars and the 624 was made in Japan before Martin took the brand over over around 1970ish. I that the era of your 624? As far as I remember the 624 was a kind of Jumbo acoustic Country & Western styled guitar? Pretty large body? Probably pretty good quality if it was MIJ in that era... they wer ejust starting to get their act together with top notch quality for budget prices!

Greco are best known for their Fender replicar electric guitars, including those made in the famous Matsumoku factory in Japan. The whole Japanese guitar scene is fascinating, with so many cross-branding and the same factories supplying different brands.

It would be good to see some photos of your Greco 624. Does it have a serial number? Any idea of the history?

Paul

The serial number is 15871.

It was owned by my FIL who gave it to my wife.

I might post some photos.

Thanks for the input.
