VERY cool!! Now THAT's a SUPRO! I hope you don't mind if I borrowed from your website to describe that sweet Supro.

From Greg's Guitars website at www.gregsguitars.net:

"1960 Vintage National Valco Supro solid body electric guitar for sale. Dated 1960 by serial number (T 25000 through T 500000) were made in 1960. A single cut solid wood guitar 2 standard and 1 bridge pickup, 6 small knobs on bass side; 1 master volume and selector switch on treble side of guitar. The original headstock 'lightning' Supro logo and outer black liner is still intact on this guitar. Marketed and cataloged as Supro's finest electric guitar for sale. It is natural blonde with very cool desirable finish checking throughout front and back. Black pick guard, original electronics intact and working as desired. The "Val-Trol" reference is not a model designation but refers to the 6 miniature tone and volume control knobs. Collectors often refer to this as a "Val Trol" but that is incorrect. This guitar's official designation is The Silverwood 1099 model. This vintage Supro comes complete with it's solid wood "tar paper" covered case."

Brian Jones used a lot of Vox products. He played the Vox Phantom VI, the Vox Phantom XI (a 12 string) and he also liked to play the tear-drop shaped Vox as well.

How does yours sound?,I don't know why but I've always imagined them to sound quite stratty?

Most Japanese solid-bodies from the '60s use single-coil pups and can sound somewhat like a Strat. But really, they have a pretty unique sound best suited for that gritty, cheezy 'surf' sound like Dick Dale, The Ventures and Link Wray, or that early '60s rock sound like The Kinks or The Animals used to play.

I love mine! It's lots of fun playing it with lots of treble and little bass to get that 'tinny' early cheap radio sound!

Your supro is really beautiful as well. It seems to be in exceptional condition for having been made in the sixties. Great guitar!

I don't think of myself as a collector, more as someone who accumulates guitars. If I were a collector I would have at least one genuine Strat or Tele, but the only Fender gear I have is a case (with an old Japanese weirdo in it), a speaker cabinet (which I use for the electronic drums in my studio) and one of those little battery-powered micro-amps.

Having said that, I do have a fair few guitars, including one or two quite rare ones, and a couple of real oddities. I've used most of them live.
