Hi, I'm kind of new around here having been a member since 2009 but never actually posting anything, I'm a bit shy! So I thought it high time I pitch in and start a topic.

MIDI...erm yes, I am a guitarist and not a keyboard player lost on the wrong forum!

I'm using an iPad app called MIDIDesigner http://mididesigner.com to send messages to two Strymon pedals, the TimeLine and Mobius http://www.strymon.net/products. MIDIDesigner has a fairly short learning curve and it was relatively easy to put an interface together to access the Strymon submenus without having to push and twist knobs. I connect to the Strymon(men?) through an IK Multimedia iRig MIDI interface http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irigmidi. All devices are looped in a daisy chain, MIDI 'Out' to MIDI 'In' and this allows edits to be made on the Strymon and sent back for display in the app. It's early days yet but next I plan on functionality to save presets for recall from the iPad.

So anybody else out there playing with MIDI, what toys have you got and how do you talk to them?

Cheers, Twig
