Weird guitars are awesome--especially in this day and age. No one wants to make anything but the "standard" Les Paul, SG or Strat style.
It's strange, isn't it, that Les Paul & Strat styles are so ubiquitous sixty years after they were first designed. Sure, they're great designs, but where are the innovators in the 21st century? The sixties and seventies had so many weird and wonderful designs - some worked and some didn't - but I guess mass production and comercial pressures mean that guitar design is just more conservative now... with just a few exceptions, mostly very expensive. I wonder whether the vintage/roadworn fashion will one day be lead to a rebellion (backlash?), with some more unusual, innovative and wacky guitars?
