This was actually one of the best playing guitars I have ever owned, 1960 era Ibanez. Now residing in a museum.

Very nice :) I didn't even know Ibanez were making guitars back in the 60's!

Is that the original scratchplate/knobs? The knobs look oversized, like they've been borrowed from a 60's radiogram!! Nice though.. kinda quirky look.. the body looks quite small. It must have been very futuristic back in 1960...

Yes the body was small, extra light , I almost laughed the day I bought it, but playing her was a dream.Everything is 100 % original, Made for Japanese market only, non export, Jimi Hendrix played a similar one in sunburst with the Chicago bands he jammed with before he pawned it for food money. This one now resides in a National Musical Instrument Museum and is presently on loan with a 60 era guitar show. Greg.

That truly is a thing of beauty - a lovely little find. :)

The body looks "a little smaller than most" in the original photograph, but when you put your hand in the photo it looks tiny! Unless you've got giant hands, of course.

The styling of headstock is wonderful, so simple, but elegant and somehow just "right". Thanks for sharing her with us. :ugeek:

Very nice guitar, what do you value it at? I've seen that style of headstock before maybe on 1960s Silvertone guitars
