I still have a way to go to complete my collection of Hofner Verithin guitars, then maybe a '63 500/1 like Macca plays and maybe a nice '64 Tele---Image

Unlike Geoff, my collection is best described as 'eclectic'.

I like the idea of 1960's guitars, but generally can't afford them (or, more accurately, can't justify the cost to myself) so tend to go for 1970s and 1980s guitars.

I tend to shy away from the big two - Fender and Gibson - and look for more unusual good quality and slightly quirky guitars.

I've recently become interested in British guitars, hence my recent acquisition of Shergold Meteor, but also like early 90's Japanese guitars - great quality from Matsumoku. :)

Currently considering a combination of British & Japanese - a Jap Vox teardrop.

I'm hoping that sometime I'll discover a specific brand or type that captures my imagination enough to specialise, then I'll become more focussed... which brings us back to Geoff!

Change of plan!,found my next purchase(which'll be sometime early next year),gonna get a Music Man Silhouette,in blue(I know my levinson's blue too!),White scratch plate, rosewood neck. I've always loved rosewood necks, they just feel and sound warmer to my ears, and I think that the White scratch sets off the blue beautifully

Looks pretty cool Steve, good choice! :D

Are you not tempted by a pearloid scratchplate? Blue and white sounds a little boring to me, but I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder etc... FWIW I tend to prefer maple fingerboards, they just feel more playable to me. Different strokes for different folks. ;)

I've got a perloid scratch which was on my strat at one point, not a huge fan,but it'd probably look nicer with the White pups!!. Might see if I can get one with the steve morse burst on it,even if I have to get one made!.

I am still collecting the "oddball" guitars which are fun to play and are still very affordable. My most recent purchases include a 1985 "Harmony Est. 1892" Strat copy in a beautiful Fender "Honey Blonde" color like that used on some early Stratocasters and Telecasters, a 1960's "Dana" labeled Cherry burst version of the Harmony/Kay Stella parlor-sized acoustic, a beautifully-aged black "Royalist" parlor-sized acoustic, probably from the early 1950's as sold through RCA Victor Record Stores as their house brand, and a very nicely-built, virtually new and fine-sounding "Austin" Cherry Burst LP copy (I bought this one just because it was a deal I couldn't pass up and it actually is a really nice LP-style player).

I am adding these to my small but growing collection of mostly Japanese and other Asian-built guitars.

Anyone know where I can get a nice, vintage style braided rope guitar strap for my Royalist?
