I've seen a lot of different guitar hangers and most are similar - variations on the theme of a u-shaped cradle. So I was interested to stumble across this US inventor (via Twitter), who invents, manufactures and sells various guitar and music gadgets from

Instead of a u or y-shaped cradle to support the guitar neck, this one uses two pegs on a simple flat backplate. It doesn't look particularly effective, but it obviously works, as Inventor Kirk Rogers says they've sold nearly 10,000 of these since 2002!!

They also do other guitar wall-mounting brackets... this one shows an SG signed by AC/DC
