Forgive me if this has been raised before, but does anyone know if a stand for a doubleneck guitar is available?

I'm approaching collection of my Hayman/Vox hybrid 6/12 doubleneck which has been undergoing some refurbishment and is hopefully going to be playable again but can I find a stand? Can I heck as like! Stands for up to 7 or more guitars, no problem.

I'd prefer something that would support each neck ideally but given that necks spacing and angles vary across different makes I'd settle for something that just gave good support to the body and was stable enough for the extra wide load it'd have to bear.

Any thoughts appreciated!

Jeff

It's a little hard to understand what you're asking but here goes. Are you looking for a wall hanger or a stand on the floor? if it's going on the wall you can take two hangers and figure out where to put them once you have the first up. As for stands.. I believe one of the ones that holds like 5-7 back to back would work, or something like in this link if you trust one.

Hi Jeff, I've never seen a stand specifically made for a double neck guitar, but there's plenty of double necks around so I guess someone must make a stand for them.

I haven't checked the dimensions, but I wonder whether you could use something like this Hercules double bass stand? Substantially bigger and more solid than your average guitar stand! It's a pity it's so deep, maybe if you could find a version designed for electric double bass....?

OK, my last suggestion was a bit radical, but how about this one....

Due to the way it's designed, I wonder whether it would be possible to buy two of these and join the bottom horizantal bars together to give a double-neck guitar stand with separate neck support for each neck?!

Might be worth a try...

Hi,

Thanks for suggestions. Yes it's a floor stand I'm after and I'll check out the 2 examples from Red Paul. Much appreciated.

I asked this question on another forum and general consensus from double-neck owners was that a standard guitar stand works OK - either an A-frame type without neck supports or one like this with just the one neck support:

An interesting double-neck Strat - it's a 6 + 6 - very unusual! I guess you'd use it with two different tunings.

Thanks Paul. I came to the same conclusion last weekend when I went to pick up my doubleneck after a refurb and found it sitting quite happily on a regular single stand. Duly ordered.

Nice strat by the way!

How's it looking/playing after the refurb?

Any photos?

Plays great. Prior to the refurb it was pretty much unplayable on the 6 string neck and the 12 was just about passable. Now the 6 is one of my favourites. I had the refurb done on an absolute shoestring mainly to see if the old thing was worth hanging onto. It is, definitely, so I'm thinking of maybe some more work, like upgrading the pickups. Photos below (before and after). Hopefully it'll be apparent which is which even if I manager to mess up inserting the pics.
