Hi there,
I'm a newly established cabinet maker (and guitar lover) in Brighton, UK. I've just built a guitar cabinet for a customer and I'd like to build more.



It's oak, with a rail and guitar hangers, and remote controlled LED lighting.

Looks great! The only thing I'm not so keen on is the hanging rail, although I can see the practical advantages of keeping the hanging configuration flexible for different guitars. I used fixed top-mounting guitar hangers for my (very amateur) guitar wardrobe, but have seen US custom-made cabinets that use top-mounting hangers with slots for mounting screws so that they are adjustable, but still "fixed", unlike your rail-hanging type.

I guess the big question is "how much"? I know there's be ifs and buts, but can you give a guide price for a cabinet like the one pictured?

I've seen some US-made cabinets with the ceiling mounted hangers here http://www.guitarcollectorshowcase.com/- a more elegant solution I agree. If we'd had a bigger budget to play with I would've liked to source something like that or have it made. The hanging rail was the part of the client's brief, and the customer is king!

I think I would prefer glass sides on the cabinet too.

As to price, you're looking at about £2,000 for something like that, give or take a few ifs and buts.

PS, I've just been over to see your guitar wardrobe - a good solution. Those hangers look exactly like what I was thinking of! Wish I'd seen 'em sooner.
