Recently acquired this from a friend. Anyone have any ideas as to who made it? Other than the leopard print that is most definitely factory applied, the raised "dart" or whatever it is, at the bottom of the case, should be a dead give away regarding the manufacturer. Have been doing much digging on the net and so far have found nada. No photos, and no inference from any source. Anyone have any help to offer? The case wears excelsior latches and feet, but there are no other marking on the case. It has a gold feltish interior that looks a lot like the stuff Ess&Ess used. The door for the strap cubby is gone or non-existant. I know from photos that Ess&Ess applied their logo plate to the door, so I just don't know. My Hagstrom Espana classical fits in there like the case was made for it, so think smaller sized Martin or other 12 fret acoustic. The fabric looks, and smells factory. The leather on the handle is long gone, but the original spring steel core is intact. Overall, the case is in remarkable condition. It has bumps and worn spots, but nothing more than just honest wear. The "patina" of dirt and smoke, coupled with the latches makes me think 30's/40's vintage, but I know nothing. I have already turned down a sizable offer to sell it. Not even thinking about it until I can ferret out some reliable info. It really is amazing. Will post/forward more pics, if someone thinks they have an idea of what this may be. Thanks in advance. First time poster.
