I have a 2020 in beautiful condition, only two owners from new. It was made in 1972, I bought it from a friend in 1976 and it hasn't seen a gig for 30 years when I quit. If you are interested, let me know and I'll sort some photos.

Checking the serial number using the Shergold site shows that it dates from August 1972. Whenever I've thought of selling I've stopped and thought... but it's beautiful... and a joy to play. However, common sense says someone should be using this! Or it should be in a collection. I find it hard to imagine that one of these would turn up in better shape than this. It is all original - with one very small exception. A volume control was changed by the original owner - he was going to change all four volume/tone controls but (thankfully) never got around to it.

Here's a stack of photographs taken the other day. By coincidence, I was in contact with a former bandmate last week who came up the two oldest photos here. The 1975 shot shows it with the original owner (notice the changed volume control), in 1977 that's me playing it and in 1979 (notice the singer was in all three bands!) the singer and I were experimenting with each other's guitars - his a very nice 1971 SG Deluxe.

Fantastic photos - thanks for sharing. I had hair exactly like that first photo in 1975!!

It's great that you've got a photo record of the guitar being used through the years, I hope you find a buyer that appreciates and treasures it. (Regrettably my own guitar closet is full at the moment... and my bank account empty.)

Good luck
Paul
