Hi, I'm new here
I've been looking around quite some time to find the right guitar to buy and I've stumbled upon this Hofner verithin 4575 model as used in the clip from queens of the stone age "make it wit chu". But I can't seem to find any sign of someone selling such a guitar, am I searching in the wrong places or is it impossible to find any of these ?

Also can any of u guys inform me about the pro's and contra's of this guitar ? I really like the old vintage look and sound of it but I heard it is quite fragile and I'm intending on using it on gigs etc. I might look out for some other vintage (semi)hollowbody's too like a Harmony or Kay guitar from the 60's if anyone has any experiences with these guitars make sure to let me know about them + if u see a nice deal on one of these don't hesitate to mail it to me ! ;)

Hi qotsafan, welcome to the forum.

I've got a modern Verythin "contemporary" and have been enjoying playing it at gigs recently (sixties music). I'm particularly impressed with its ability to produce Les Paul type sounds - e.g. works well on Rolling Stones' Jumping Jack Flash

For info on genuine vintage Verithins you need Ozzy Verithin Geoff... he's THE expert on Verithins and their biggest fan ;) . I'm sure he'll be along soon with everything you need to know about the Verithin 4575...

Cheers,
Paul

G'day mate Welcome to the forum--Image
The 4575 is a nice guitar, and gigs very well, it's very light to carry, about a quarter of the weight of an ES355. Have a wonder around my website [link in the sig] there are loads of 4575 guitars featured there.
Alison Mosshart is the guitarist with the American band "The Kills" and she regularly uses hers on stage.
As far as I know there is only one 4575 guitar for sale on any of the major auction sites at the moment, this one in Germany
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemnext&item=200607742165.html
There's a '64 Verithin for sale on UK ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110685757993&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
If I see anything I'll give you a shout
