Two of the guys from the Hofner Hounds forum have written a new Hofner book, It's titled
Hofner
The guitar that made the beat boom happen
They have used a very clever technique for publishing the book, it's being done by an on line company who have one of these very fast colour printer/binders that are geared up to low volume production, Here's a link to the site that is selling the book.

And here's a photo of the cover

Rumour has it that there may be a pic of a very pretty Verithin in there ;) 8-) Image

Hi Alex,
Just Joined the forum and I am making contact with you as I can see that you are interested in collecting Guitar books like me.
I know the new Hofner book you are talking about but do not have a copy yet. I do have an original original copy 1st edition. I also notice you collect Empredors. I have a Empredor Archtop 175 copy in my collection and had I not seen your message I would have forgottern about it until someoneelse mentioned the name. I commend you on collecting a real rare guitar. I am great believer that it does not need to be a Gibson or Fender to save. All guitars are worth saving and a real rare guitar is not one that is just rare because it is popular and worth a lot of money and can be purchased almost anywhere if you have the money. Thats status and investment. A rare guitar is one that is rare because there are not many of them around and are really dificult to find and usually because they are were and are not popular. Never forget the Ford Edsel story when it comes to collecting.

Hi there Archtopper! I assume you were writing that note about the Emperador to me, but I am not the guy who wrote in this thread. That is VerithinGeoff, who lives in Australia (like you), collects Hofner guitars and books and is obviously a big fan of the 'Verithin'.

In any event, I just love unusual and great-sounding guitars. I had a look at your website and enjoyed viewing your collection and website 'candy'. Thanks for the compliment. By the way, my Emperador AW-41 Dreadnought acoustic guitar sounds great. It 'rings' in a way that compares nicely with some other much more expensive guitars (like Martins, Normans and Taylors) I have played.

Hi Alex
No problem at least you replied and we got some chatter going.
A lot of forum don't have good responce but I think this

Keep in touch now and don't be frightened to ask me questions.
All the best.

G'day mate Welcome to the forum--Image
I'm a Verithin collector/player as Alex said, where do you fit in with the Hofner scene? I have a first edition of the Hofner book, and a couple of my guitars are featured in it, have you seen the Gordon Giltrap book?

Hi Verithingeoff,
I have a few Hofners and they are on my site. archtopguitarsandbooks.com.
I love Hofners more than Gibsons because Hofner has been more individually creative with their guitars.
It's a dam shame that they are not respected more but unfortunaltelly the guitar world is full of limited thinking people. I have a 1993 copy of the Hofner Gordon Giltrap book.
I also like Framus Guitars and many other European guitars. Some of the most interesting manafactured guitars I have seen come from Europe. Jimmy D'aquisto from the US pushed the boundries of the archtop guitar into the future and after his death in 1995 many other fine guitar makers tried to follow on from him but the modern maker that takes my interest the most at the moment is Mirrabella from the US. Parker guitars are also interesting from the US.
his latest archtop guitar designs show a lot of creative individuality.
Anyway a guitar is a guitar and I love most of them expensive or cheap. US British, South American or European and even solid bodies like Strats and Telecaters.
