I think you have done a hell of a job , and since I have not dropped in in awhile this has been a very interesting and entertaining thread to view. Halfway through I was thinking to myself to finish it in natural, but the grain does look a bit to open, then again you are taking extreme closeups. All in all it came out great and after 50 plus years is being played again which is what matters most. An excellent job.

Thanks you very much I appreciate it :) it is fairly open grained and there are still white-ish yellow spots in the pores but they're slowly going away with use and I think it gives it kind of a unique look anyways. I'm finally having no more problems with it  all it could use is lowering the nut a tiny but next string change but other than that it's great.

Well it`s been 4 years and this thing`s still hanging around. Life has changed a lot and it`s been up for sale locally a few times but no takers unfortunately. Here it is recently, it`s only been out of its case less than a dozen times since my last post which is kind of a shame, just wanted to update this for anyone who still cares.
